Been a while since I've had proper vision. The eyedrops given when I 1st went to see a doc didn't help at all. Hence Monday, I decided to go get a referral letter to visit an eye specialist. Went to the polyclinic and got an eye check by the gp who gave me hell of a worry when he said I might have a tear in my right eye. Anyway I went down the SNEC on Tues, and the doc who saw me confirmed that it was conjunctivitis. More eyedrops, antibiotics and am banned from wearing contact lenses for a mth.
Mehh ~ that sux. I hate wearing glasses QQ. Not only does it make me look like a fcking geek, it itz highly annoying. Imagine when it rains and u get raindrops on ur glasses, ur shirt is wet and u can't wipe it? Or when u perspire and is sticky like hell and ur glasses are there on ur nose making it so uncomfortable? Ohhh... and when u walk outta an air-con place and the glasses fog up? Blahh I just hope my eyes get well soon & not fck up again.
Bad timing for such a thing to happen to. Considering that I was supposed to go help out a friend's dad @ his office. Ended up being put on medical leave till end of this week. There goes my chance to earn some $$. I really would have to find a part-time or temp job soon after I get well. Not wrking for such a long time has drained my pockets substaintially and I'll need to save up as much as I can if I were to go to Aussie nxt year. If only earning $ irl is as straight-forward as earing gold in mmorpgs - kill mobs, loot bodies, sell loot. But guess that'll mean I'll be injured most of the time. Ack >.<
Anyway my weekend movie marathons still continue, though the pace has slowed down somewhat - as in more sleeping & just talking instead of chain watching stuff lol. Don't ask me to list all that I've watched since the last time I blogged about it. Itz definitely more than 10 movies & I'm too lazy to think back to list them. One that's worth mentioning is Idiiocracy.
Had that movie for quite sometime but never gotten down to watching it till last week. Itz about this guy who took part in an army experiment & woke up 500 years later. Instead of finding the world technologically advanced like in those sci-fi stuff, he woke up to realise that he's the smartest man in the world. And he's just an average guy mind you. What happened was through the centuries, humans became dumber. Makes much sense though, especially if u believe that intelligence is in the genes.
Just look @ the world around u these days. The more educated folks are getting married later and having less children. The lesser educated ones just continue breeding like farm animals. Itz just a sooner or later thing that everyone gets "dumbed down" if you get what I mean. Oh no, I'm not saying that kids frm lesser-educated parents will definitely grow up to be stupid. They would probably have a fair shot @ education too. But face it, most of those will never be as smart as the ones who are born to higher educated parents. Don't believe me? Then go be a part-time tutor or something. Note the kid's learning ability & their family background. You'll see a pattern.
Of coz that might be related to the kid's upbringing. Coz more highly educated parents usually earn more $ and their kids will have access to stuff that kids from more poor educated parents don't. Everything starts from when the child is young imo. I do believe that if my mum didn't bring me down to the bookstore so often when I was a kid, I would have never cultivated an interest in reading and I probably would end up with a poorer command of the English language as I do right now. Blahhh am not saying that I'm a genius. Am just saying that I could be worse off.
It's just too bad that I never learned how to listen to my brain over my heart. *sigh* Guess I don't really have luck in that aspect of Life. And rite now, am kinda wondering where that dark cave is gonna lead to... and the question in my mind is: am I willing to give up my plans for overseas study to find out?
Time to rest eyes. Too much squinting @ the screen already. Can barely even read what I'm typing right now. Thank goodness I can touch-type.
